Roberto Martinez On Verge Of Everton Sack In The Summer.

Everton's new shareholder Farhad Moshiri has been reported to be considering sacking Manager Roberto Martinez unless he wins the FA Cup at the end of the season .

This is coming after the Merseyside club are placed in the bottom half of the table (11th) with a goal difference of 4 after 34 games.  Everton have lost eight home games out of 16 games and have recorded their home wins against an inconsistent  Chelsea and they three other bottom placed teams in the league (Sunderland, Newcastle and Aston Villa). They team under Martinez have had a poor home record all season. As if that isn't bad enough , Everton  has the second worst home record in the five top European leagues (England, Spain, Germany, Italy , France).

Also considering that the present team under Martinez have garnered only 17 points from a possible 51 all season (home games), it can be concluded that the team has the worst home record in Everton's history.

Martinez shortly suffered relegation some weeks after winning the FA Cup with Wigan in 2013, upon which he was appointed as David Moyes replacement by Everton's Chairman Ken Billwright. He took the team to 5th place in his first season at the club and finished with the clubs best season points tally, qualifying for the Europa League. His second season was less successful as Everton finished in the bottom half and the bad form has continued this season.

Martinez's saving grace is the fact that he still has the FA Cup to play for as his team is in the semi-final.

It is still a long time away from the end of the season, but for sure time seems to be tickling fast for the Spanish manager who is the first foreign manager  of Everton (previous managers were of British and Irish origin).
