Ayo Fayose And Tope Aluko's Reconciliation Exposes How Dirty Nigerian Politics Can Be.

Fayose said that we  can only win using the military . We agreed before the election that him (Fayose) will become the Governor, myself becoming Chief of Staff and Honourable Femi Bamisile becoming the Deputy Governor. For the military to indict it's members because of the election of a state you will know what I am saying is not a lie ", were the exact words of the former Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State and Fayose's close confidant , Dr. Tope Aluko in January on how the Ekiti State election in 2014 was rigged with the help of the military by the PDP.

While his words might have been doubted by a certain few after the governor's team called him a liar and one angry because he was not made the governor's Chief of Staff, the sacking of Brig.Gen Momoh this week by the Nigerian Army for his role in the rigging throws more light on how right Aluko is.

In a sane world, having played an active role in changing the final outcome of an election which amounts to fraudulently changing the choices of the electorates , this would have amounted to an immediate arrest of Aluko by the authorities and his quick trial in a competent court, while Fayose on his own would be impeached by the state assembly for bringing his position as governor into disrepute.

The issue at hand which underscores just how bad politics in the country has turned is the news that Fayose and Aluko reconciled and had a quick chat with the press while attending a social event in Lagos this week. This is after Aluko swore he would never be seen close to the governor as he was a known fraudster (Fayose) and one that did not exhibit any leadership quality . While Nigerians continue to quarrel and argue on the sides of both men, it appears like always, that both men have settled as due to their personal interest's.

Aluko has really shown how unstable he could be , once he was guaranteed a little material benefit by any one interested in his fraudulent services. This is a man that testified as a witness at the election tribunal , absolving  Fayose and the PDP of any blame and claiming ignorance of any rigging.  It is now understood why he quickly made a u-turn, going on air to allege  there was massive rigging of which he played a significant role. The reason for this isn't far from the fact that Aluko is a shameless man who felt abandoned by the Fayose administration, hence resorted to exposing their shared dirty secrets .

What is shocking is why Fayose on his part was quick to make peace with the same man he accused of having an unstable character . What this clearly illustrates apart from the dirty nature of Aluko is that there is absolutely no difference between the PDP and APC as it only depends on the the perception of the viewer. While the APC have been criticised for all their appalling acts and policies in government, the likes of Fayose who are the chief attackers are not any better.
