Algerian and Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez had won the PFA Player of the Season awards after producing a masterclass performance in the 4-0 demolition of Swansea City at the King Power Stadium. Mahrez scored the opener before Argentine
Ulloa who replaced suspended Jamie Vardy scored a double and Mark Albrington completing the rout that extended the Foxes lead to five ahead of 2nd placed Tottenham with three more games to go.
Mahrez has scored as many as 17 league goals , registering a further 11 assists to take Claudio Ranieri's side to the top of the league .
The player who is making his second full season in Leicester, joined the Foxes in the 2014 winter transfer window for £400,000 from then French Ligue 2 side Le Havre beat team mate and Three Lions international Jamie Vardy who came second and the likes of Tottenham's Harry Kane and West Ham's Dmitri Payet.
Mahrez on accepting the award revealed how delighted he was saying , " It's extra special because if the players vote for me it's because they've seen I've been great this year so I'm happy.
"Without my team-mates I wouldn't get this award. We are like brothers. It's everywhere on the pitch. That's our strength .
"If sometimes we are not good, we know we are going to run and make the effort for our team-mates. That is the secret of our success ", he concluded.
Mahrez made history as the first ever Leicester City player and also African player to have won the award.
Also the 25-year-old became the first winner of the award who did not play for Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham or Manchester United since Alan Shearer win it at Newcastle in 1997.
Also in the night , Tottenham's Dele Alli received his Young Player of the Year award , while Jamie Vardy got an award for his 11-straight games goal scoring feat and Manchester United's assistant coach and former winger receiving the PFA Merit Award.
