Dino Melaye is not only the number supporter of Senate President Bukola Saraki after seconding the motion for Saraki's nomination as Senate President, he is also the most controversial senator in the present dispensation. It is shocking that despite his appalling and irresponsible records such a man continues to parade himself as a senator and representative of his constituency . This clearly shows
the type of democracy practiced in Nigeria .
Melaye is a man that has been unable to keep his private life from the public eyes as he has had nothing but negative news surrounding him since he became a member of the House of Representative (2007-2011).
Recently Melaye has been accused of threatening to beat up Senator Oluremi Tinubu on the floor of the house during a closed door meeting of the Senate on Tuesday. This might be unconnected with the fact that Oluremi's husband and APC chieftain Asiwaju Bola Tinubu appears to have a score to settle with both Melaye and his boss Saraki. Tinubu is credited as the father of the APC and one whom the loyalty of most of the APC senators lies with. Also the election of Saraki was contrary to the plans of Tinubu who publicly preferred other candidates to the former Kwara State governor. This might have influenced the present trial of Saraki and Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremandu for forgery in the court as Tinubu is seen as the architect of the plan. It was based on this that Senator Oluremi Tinubu asked the senate to devote their time to more pressing things and not be reduced to an institution that issues kindergarten threats like the present one on the Attorney General of the Federal and President Buhari. This was the point Melaye snapped and shouted her down, threatening to beat and impregnate her with little or now consequences for him later on. Although this might have occurred behind closed doors, this is no news for a person of Melaye. This act is exactly the same thing that led to the suspension of Dino in 2011 by the then House of Representative Speaker Hon Dimeji Bankole . Dino Melaye and his colleagues Solomon Awhinawhi, Independence Ogunewe , Bitrus Kaze, Austin Nwachukkwu and Doris Uboh were bundled out of the House Chambers and suspended after instigating a free for all fight in 2011. Melaye was publicly disgraced and even shown on live television as the leader of the irresponsible group.
Melaye is known as a chronic womaniser and wife beater which is responsible for the divorce of his first marriage with Mrs Tokunbo Melaye in 2013 (after ten years of domestic abuse filled marriage). Mrs Tokunbo had told all who cared to know how Dino had turned her into a punching bag and nearly ended her life on several occasions. Like a proverbial dog that goes back to it's vomit, Dino continued his barbaric act in his second marriage with Mrs Alero Melaye whose case was worse as she was beaten blue and black by the senator while she was seven months pregnant.
Dino is also alleged to have falsified his age on the National Assembly official website as he claims to be 42 born in 1974 while his West African School Certificate shows he obtained the certificate in 1986 from Gandun Nassarawa Primary School Kano with no secondary school listed as where he obtained it. What this means is that Dino was 12-years-old when he wrote and passed the exams. This surely shows that Dino is not only a genius but out of this world.
Shocking is not enough when one tries to state the feeling that such a plague like Dino is seen speaking publicly about sensitive Nigerian issues. Dino is clearly seen as a poster boy for not only the Senate President but the APC on whose wings he flew to national glory after he was disgraced out of PDP . How can Nigeria make progress when a senator is a public sexist who not only drowns in domestic abuse but also takes it to the national level disgracing not only himself but the senate.
At a time the House of Representative members are ridiculed with accusations of wooing sleeping with prostitutes in the US, Senator Dino Melaye has upped the ante by publicly threatening to beat, rape and impregnate a fellow colleague.
Dino Melaye doesn't belong in the Senate and his constituency must be so shamed of his antics. Therefore his recall from the Senate is imminent and must be fast tracked by Kogi West Constituency .
