Three losses in five games isn't an exceptional result for a coach and that is exactly where Francesco Guidolin of Swansea has found himself considering the club's poor run of form.
Swansea have only been able to beat newly promoted Burnley on the opening day. This has led to many media outlets reporting that club chairman Huw Jenkins is targeting Ryan Giggs formerly of Manchester United as Guidolin's replacement
. Jenkins is known for his controversial appointment with dark horses and less fancied coaches like Michael Laudrup and Garry Monk getting the job ahead of more established names in the past three years.
Jenkins is seen to favour the appointment of Giggs as Guidolin's replacement in the dug out early this season a move which the American owners fear might unsettle the squad and becoming counter-productive as they owners want to avoid the lengthy managerial search that was witnessed last season after the sacking of Garry Monk in December.
The owners also feel it's too early to sack Guidolin after spending huge sums of money signing the likes of Baston Borja and Fernando Illorente in the summer. Giggs on his part had declined the offer to replace Garry Monk after his sacking in December. The Welshman decided at the time to continue as Louis Van Gaal's assistant as he felt moving to Swansea will ruin his chances of taking over at United once Van Gaal's contract expires next season. This is the reason it wasn't shocking that the Welshman declined to remain in United after the appointment of Jose Mourinho this summer.
