Why Is The Once Outspoken Olisa Metuh Suddenly Quiet?

Olisa Metuh as the Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) became the most vocal critic of the present APC government few months before elections and after their inauguration along with Ekiti State first citizen and governor Ayodele Peter Fayose.
This has suddenly changed after the Anambra State trained lawyer was arrested by the operatives of the EFCC, remanded and charged to court for accusations of conspiracy in the diversion of $2.2 billion insurgency funds along with the then National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki in January. Long before then Metuh accused the APC of several things which include, plans to islamise the country like the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood did in Egypt, describing the APC's 6 March 2014 manifesto as a product of a "Janjaweed Ideology" (derived from a Darfur Sudanese militia) and a way to anarchy which is a good feature of all anti-democratic coalitions.  He also went further to say the APC sponsored and benefitted from the Boko Haram mayhem and knew more than they said about the insurgency , which in-turn frustrated the administration of Goodluck Jonathan and finally implying that then President Jonathan was being persecuted simply because he hailed from a minority tribe (Ijaw).

Metuh's accusations were non-stop even after his political party (PDP) lost the general elections. If anyone had doubts if the attacks would stop , it surely didn't as it only became worse. On the other part, Metuh could not be accused of false accusations as the APC through Lai Mohammed as it's Publicity Secretary did worse. Lai Mohammed on his own fabricated so many stories that even one mentally derailed would find it difficult to believe. This made him the poster boy of liars in the country as it was obvious Metuh was only learning from him as Mohammed was miles ahead of Metuh when it came to propaganda.

This is the sole reason why members of the public are shocked that Metuh has suddely kept quiet and acted in silence after he was granted bail on 19 January. Questions have been asked if Is it that Metuh had something to hide, hence his unholy silence since his arrest and bail? Metuh's defence to his charges were that he was paid for services he rendered the then government and not that he shared in the loot. He has also failed to disclose the nature of service he rendered and why it was the unconstitutional office of the National Security Adviser that paid him, instead of the Ministry of Works etc. On the other hand , the EFCC disclosed that he made a secret payment of N50m to his wife Kanayo Olisah Metuh and a PDP party chief (N24m), shortly after Dasuki gave him his own share of the loot.

At a time the APC is on downhill and effecting negative change with it's anti-people policies, individuals like Metuh have been found quiet and maybe trying to focus on clearing their heads on the now infamous DasukiGate. The million dollar question is : Who will be the new voice of the opposition?
