Unknown Outside Stamford Bridge, Bride Of The Championship. The Tammy Abraham Show.

Unknown Outside Stamford Bridge: Star Of The Championship. The Tammy Abraham Show Continues.

By Ewah  Chika.

Tammy Abraham's summer season long loan to Bristol City in the Championship did not generate much views and news as the 18-year-old was an unknown player outside Stamford Bridge having made only two Premier League appearances before the move.

Fast- forward to end of September (less than a month after his move) and the youngster is the bride of the Championship lighting it up with as much as ten goals winning the EEL Player of September. This is despite the fact that the youngster had been so impressively prolific for the Chelsea Youth team scoring an astonishing 74 goals in 98 youth games winning the FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League in the process.

Having to face the reality of rotting on the Chelsea bench with the likes of established international players like Diego Costa and Michy Batshuayi ahead of him, Abraham made the wise decision to move to Aston Gate (Bristol City). At the Championship club, the 18-year-old has not disappointed manager Lee Johnson who fought hard for his signature in the summer. The striker is not just impressed in-front of goal having scored a total of 11 goals in 13 Championship games for the club, he has also created seven chances coupled with his 74 percent average pass accuracy and 63 percent shot accuracy which is impressive for a player of his age.

"Every time you get the chance on the pitch, you just have to give your all and hopefully the chances will keep coming.

" My aim is to push as much as I can wherever I can and if I do go back to Chelsea, I'll just give my all and hopefully push for the first team," were his words after scoring a brace on his first international start for the England U21 following the 5-0 thrashing of Bosnia this week.

Abraham also sees Manchester United's Marcus Rashford as an example for youngsters after the pair met head-to- head in the FA Youth Cup in January as Chelsea thrashed United 5-1 with Abraham netting on the day. Unlike Abraham, Rashford would benefit from Manchester United and Louis Van Gaal's philosophy of playing impressive youngsters as he scored on his United debut which  was four weeks after the the January FA Youth Cup game with Chelsea. With Abraham struggling to even get a spot  on the Chelsea bench, Rashford continued his devastating goalscoring form until the end of the season, making the final cut of Roy Hodgson's Three Lions squad for the 2016 Euros in France after scoring on his debut for the national team.

This season, Abraham goals have pushed Bristol City to fifth in the Championship table, one point behind fourth placed Brighton as they chase automatic qualification or a play- off position by the end of the season.

Chelsea fans pray the club allow him to remain at the club next season playing in the Cup competitions rather than send him out on another loan which is the same thing that ruined the promising career of Patrick Bamford who impressed in Middlesbrough (2014/2015) winning the Championship Player of Season award as Middlesborough lost out to Norwich City in the play-offs. Rather than remain in Chelsea and play his way to the first team, Bamford was deemed not good enough, joining and flopping at the likes of Crystal Palace, Norwich City and presently unable to  see action this season in Burnley despite the suspension of Andre Gray.

Tammy Abraham is not yet world class but that should not stop him making the Chelsea team when he returns on loan next season as the likes of Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford, Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho have gradually made it to their clubs star studded first team despite the abundance of talents.
