Why Has Sambo Dasuki Been Deserted By Allies When He Didnt Loot Alone?

Col. Sambo Dasuki's (Rtd) name has been the only reoccurring, long lasting and bell ringing name in Nigerian dailies since last year . This is mainly due to the alledged $2.2 billion insurgency fund and arms procuremet he diverted for his personal use  with little or no
regard for the rule of law.

While most of his allies and cohorts have also been arrested and charged along with him at different times , namely Olisah Metu, Alex Badeh and Raymond Dokpesi, it seems they all have gotten away as they all have been granted bail , while Dasuki continues to rot in detention. A careful examination of the case in hand shows that none of the accused have refuted public claims that $2.2 billion was diverted by their close friend Dasuki, rather the ringtone all have sang all day long has been that the payment made to them was for a service rendered to the federal government of president Goodluck Jonathan and not in connection to the missing fund.

This leaves one wondering why is it that the 'Unconstitutional' office of the National Securiy Adviser  is responsible and made the payment to AIT (Raymond Dokpesi's Private Cable Television) for the campaign jingles of the then ruling PDP instead of the political party itself . Or are national funds now used to fund political parties in this part of the world ? All the accused have all tried to absorb themselves of any blame and downplay their roles in the scam counting from Jim Nwobodo to Olu Falae to Iyachia Ayu. Why have all these Dasuki acquaintances now trying to distance themselves from him when they all ate and dined in the same table (corruption ) and plate (missing $2.2 billion). Was Dasuki the only one who successfully diverted the money without the knowledge of any of them in their circus of  corruption ?

While Dasuki, remains locked up in jail while being tried, he continues to contribute to his woes by keeping an unholy silence , preferring to keep mute when he should voice out and expose his co-actors in the ugly act .

It is a common statement in law that "One is innocent until proven guilty " but can that be said about  Dasuki ? Dasuki surely has to lessen the charges hanging on his neck , hence downplay his participation in the looting by exposing all the activities of others . A word they say is enough for the wise .
