Is Alexandro Pato Really A Finished Article?

Alexandro Pato is a name that rings a bell for football lovers. Pato is a young prodigy who promised so much but delivered so little. At 17 years and 102 days Pato broke the record for the youngest ever player to score in a FIFA
- Organised Competition held by compatriot Pele as he scored against African Club Champions Al-Ahly, winning the Word Club World Cup in the process in 2006. In his second season in Milan in 2009 aged 20, Pato finished as AC Milan's top goalscorer with 18 goals. He also won the Seria A Young Footballer of the Year in 2009 becoming the first Brazilian to have won it also having scored 51 goals in just 117 games at AC Milan Pato was one of the hottest player in Europe until injuries and lack of form curtailed his European sojourn.

Since his return to Brazil, Pato has been at his worst and was often criticised by Corinthians fans after his horrific penalty kick was caught by Gremio's Keeper and former Milan team mate Nelson Dida which knocked out Corinthians from the  Copa do Brazil. Pato has also moved  clubs in Brazil joining Sao Paulo . At Corinthians he scored 9 goals in 30 games but quickly doubled that number (19 goals in  59 games ) in Sao Paulo.

It should be noted that he has exprienced a resurgence having registered eight assists to supplement his goal tally. To buttress further he has a passing accuracy of 73.2% and has improved much more on his dribbling and offside awareness since his days in AC Milan.  The million dollar question is whether he is ready to perform at the top level in the Premier League as he is currently a transfer target for many  EPL clubs, this is coming after his agent revealed that "Chelsea, Liverpool, Sporting and Benfica all have made contact". At 26 years Pato still has it all but like most South Americans (Carlos Alberto, Jo, Robinho) one wonders what will be the outcome if he finally moved. As its stands its a risk that has no assurances or guarantee, it could go either way.
