Extension of Leroy Sane's Contract, Shows Schalke 04 Is Getting It Right Again.

Fans of German club Schalke 04 are not happy with the going talks for the transfer of midfield star Julian Draxler to Juventus. These are trying times for the Gelsenkirchen Club, who as of 2011 reached the semi final of the Champions League.
Also Schalke is no ordinary club, as the possess the record of having the 7th highest operating income of any football club on Earth at $64.4 million or £38.2 million (€48 million), and a 0% debt (which is almost impossible in football) as of August 2014.  Schalke at the end of last season sacked head coach and former Chelsea coach Roberto Di Matteo and replaced him with Andre Breitenreiter from Paderborn.

The positive news for Schalke last season, was the discovery of star midfielder Leroy Sane from the reserves. As if that was not enough, Schalke have extended the contract of Sane until 2019. What this means is that Sane isn't leaving the club anytime soon. Sane comes from a sporting family. His father was a former Senegalese football international (striker) also playing for German sides Freiburg and Nuremberg from 1985-1990 and scoring more than 65 goals in the process. His mother is Regina Weber, a former rhythmic gymnast champion.

Last season, Sane played 13 games in the Bundesliga, scoring three goals with a shot accuracy of 40% and creating five chances in the process. At 19 years, Sane produced an impressive 76% pass accuracy and won an average of 40% in physical duels. In his champions league debut against football super power Real Madrid last season,  Sane replaced Cameroonian striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting in the 29th minute and scored the equalizing goal (curling spectacular long range shot). It did not end there, as he assisted Dutch and former Real Madrid striker, Klaas Huntelaar for the last goal that gave Schalke a 4-3 win in the Santiago Bernabeu. It was an audition that Sane passed in flying colours. At 19 years old, Sane had announced his arrival to the world and there was no better place to do so other than at the Bernabeu. Sane is a left footed player who can also play any position in the midfield, but is more suited to the central role. It has been a difficult time for Schalke as they have been sleeping giants in the Bundesliga in recent years.

Therefore, extending  the contract of Sane is not only good news to the fans or club but also to Sane, as he can now concentrate and maintain his career progress. It is better he stays in his boyhood club of Schalke and develop into one of Germany best midfielders as his potential rightly points out. Even with the failure of last season, Schalke fans will be forgiven for being positive and optimistic due to the assembly of young talents in the team like Jan Kirchhoff , Max Meyer  under the guidance of experienced players like Club Captain and German regular Benedikt Howedes, Matija Nastastic (Who only joined in January 2015, after a spell in Manchester City) and Klaas Huntelaar. Having stated all these, it is safe to say that Schalke  is sure to return to glory soon.
