Is Alex Teixeira Really Worth The Hype?

One of the hottest player in the current winter transfer is no one else but Alex Teixeira of Sharkar Donesk. It is no longer news that the Brazilian is highly coveted by the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool.
The Brazilian is no stranger to transfer news as his 67 goals in 146 appearances in Sharkar Donesk as an attacking midfielder means he is a hot property . Such will continue with a club which keeps on buying cheap players of South American descent and selling them to the highest bidder (luxury price). The club has produced the likes of Luiz Adriano (AC Milan), Fernandinho (Manchester City), Willan (Chelsea) and Douglas Costa (Bayern Munich), it is no longer difficult to see why their players are in high demand as their ex players have excelled where ever they are sold to.

Teixeira was born on 6 January 1990 and played in Vasco de Gama and scored 11 goals in 51 games while in Brazil . He joined Sharkar for €6 million while still 19 in December 2009 and has grown to become one of the best players in the Ukrainian League.

In 2009, Alex was voted the second best player in the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Egypt behind Dominic Adiyiah of Ghana, as he missed the decisive penalty in shoot out against Ghana in the final. Alex is a flair player and loves to hold on to the ball like a typical South American . This season , Alex has scored 6 goals with 3 assists and at 26 years is only approaching his prime . Like the others before him who were not given they credit the much deserved (Douglas Costa, Willian and Fernandihno) until they left Eastern Ukraine, it might just be the same case for Alex. This is a player who can play both the holding role or attacking midfield and can change the game with a moment of brilliance as he did against Real Madrid in the group stage of the Champions League.

It is no denying the fact that Alex is a rare gem and any club that signs him will be lucky to do so, if not now in the summer.
