Edo September Election : Ali-Modu Sheriff Turns Himself To A Circus Comedian.

By Ewah Chika.

Edo State is the latest state to witness Ali-Modu Sheriff and Ahmed Makarfi's factious destructive fighting which had kicked off in Port-Hacourt during the planned but unsuccessful convention of the party where Sheriff was kicked out by the Governors of the party and the National Working
Committee . It did not stop there as Wadata plaza was the next venue after both factions laid claim to the PDP national secretariat before it was sealed off by the Police.

With election set to kick-off in Edo in the last quarter of the year, Ahmed Makarfi's faction seems to be getting the upper hand after it conducted his primaries electing the favourite and grassroots politician Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu who was the people's choice even before the convention.

This did not go down well with Sheriff who seems abandoned by his own sheep and is a conductor without a choir as he announced the plan and date for his own primaries , shading the Makarfi faction that their election was not recognised by INEC. It turned out to be a bad call by Sheriff as reports have it that INEC was fully recognised in the primaries and even satisfied with it. Sheriff's next move seems more like comedy in a circus rather than a political Masterstroke as only political lightweights and people who did not come out victorious in Makarfi's faction election have purchased forms to contest for his. This looks more like trying  to sow in so many places to reap fruits by the aspirants. With Hounorable Ehiozuwa Johnson-Agbonayinma (House of Representative member from Egor/Ikpoba Okha Federal Constituency in Edo State the main protagonist for the Sheriff led faction In the state.

Though the court is yet to make their judgement on the issue, it is clear that Sheriff lacks the fellowship and power he desires as the present Chairman of PDP in the party shaded the former Governor of Borno State and senator all under ANPP of lacking the power to suspend him after Sheriff announced his suspension.

For now, Ali-Modu Sheriff and his few confused followers  are a wolf in sheep clothing  and must be suppressed.
